Visitor Center Facelift”

Sue and Bette help passengers know more about St. Louis at the remodeled East Terminal Visitor Information Booth.

The East Terminal’s Visitor Center is no longer camouflaged in grey surroundings. In attempt to increase tourism inquiries, the St. Louis Convention &Visitors Commission (CVC) installed new bright-red “St. Lou Is” signage and coordinating canopy. The effort has already begun to increase the interest of travelers wanting to know more about the region’s attractions, hotels, and transportation services.

“Honored Visit”

A local delegation bids farewell to China’s Vice Premier at Lambert on Monday.

Lambert-St. Louis International Airport welcomed China’s top economic minister who landed Sunday afternoon on an Air China Boeing 767. Vice Premier Wang Qishan arrived with a large delegation of economic and trade leaders from China for trade talks and signing ceremonies in St. Louis. Less than 24 hours later, the Vice Premier Qishan was back in the air heading to Washington. The high level visit finalized more than

$5 billion in export deals with several Missouri companies and industries.

“The Pasta House Is Coming Back”

Lambert’s great restaurant makeover has begun.

The Pasta House is making a comeback at Lambert after a four year hiatus. It’s replacing Brews & Blues that closed this week in the lower level of the Main Terminal. The Pasta House was formerly located in Concourse D. The new location will bring patio seating to the Main Terminal once construction is complete in about four months. The Pasta House will be operated by Deli Enterprises, the same great folks who operate the Great American Bagel. Later this summer, Lambert visitors will see more new restaurants under construction as HMSHost begins work with some exciting new concepts in the West End of the Main Terminal Ticketing Hall.

“Mow On”

Catching up Friday morning under clear skies on Lambert’s airfield

Mowing the airfield at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is a huge undertaking especially in the midst of a record rainy season--already more than 12 inches above average. That’s why Lambert’s five-man airfield mowing crew has no time to waste when skies clear. Each mowing tractor cuts a 17ft path of grass. Still, it takes the team nearly a week to make to complete pass inside Lambert’s airfield perimeter which accounts for 600-acres of green space. For their sake, let’s hope for more sunny skies ahead.
