Plan Ahead: Highway Closure
Could Affect Your Commute to Lambert
|
The current 5-mile closure of I-64 between Ballas and I-170 could cause a significant change in travel times to Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. While the project does not affect a direct route to Lambert, it is forcing thousands of motorists to use alternate routes on other St. Louis roadways including I-170, I-70 and I-270. If you are catching a flight, picking up passengers or doing business at Lambert, you are encouraged to leave earlier than normal to better handle the change in the regional traffic conditions. You can also link on to the Missouri Department of Transportation’s website www.thenewI64.org to get more information on current traffic situations and details on all 1-64 related road and bridge closures. If you want to find the best way to or from the airport, you can also log onto the MODOT “Map My Trip” website page at http://dist6.modot.mo.gov/mapmytrip. And if you want to leave your car behind, you can always ride Metro, the St. Louis regional transportation system. Lambert is served by Metrobus and Metrolink, Metro’s light rail service.
